The Apostle Paul wrote to the Christians in Rome: For all have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious standard
(Romans 3:23). “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
That tells us we are all living under a death sentence from God. But there is a way out of the death sentence!
There is a free gift – eternal life!
How do we receive it? Again, Paul wrote to the Christians in Rome: For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
The Apostle John wrote this: If we say we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and refusing to accept the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong (1st John 1:8,9).
If you want to accept God’s offer of forgiveness and eternal life, we encourage you to make this your prayer:
Father in heaven, I thank you for Jesus. Jesus, I thank you that you came.
I thank you that you were willing to die on the cross for my sins. I realize I am a sinner.
I realize that I have failed you and failed to live up to your moral standards.
I need your forgiveness. I receive the forgiveness you offer me now.
I accept your salvation and the gift of eternal life. I commit myself to follow you.
Send your Holy Spirit to help guide me. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
